About the Author
PHILIP HSIN and his family fled Phnom Penh, Cambodia, just days before its fall to the Khmer Rouge. The first Cambodian refugee family to arrive in Portland, Oregon, they relied on government aid until his parents could begin working.
After more than three decades spent in the corporate world, Philip is now focused on spending time with his two young children and on his passion projects.
He was most recently a managing director at PGIM, one of the largest global asset management firms. He also held senior positions at Capital International, Barclays Global Investors, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
He earned a BS degree in finance with a minor in behavioral sciences from Oregon State University and an executive MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Philip is also a member of the Panel of Community Advisors to Honour (Singapore), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a culture of honor and honorable behavior for the well-being of Singapore.
